Hey, Sugar! started with my friends…for their birthdays to be exact. In Chicago I have the most amazing group of girlfriends, each with a very discerning palette. I, always volunteering to bring dessert to a party, would make homemade cupcakes for each of the girl’s birthdays. Let’s just say it started simple, but grew into custom flavors, gold leafed candles and finally a waiter swooning over our table to share in the cupcakes! And with each party, my friends would say “you should start a bakery.” And I kept saying some day. 

Well, some day arrived when a good friend suggested I bake thank you gifts for his clients. I had just won a cookie contest with my Strawlemon Snicker Doodles, so I suggested sending those out in a little gift box for the holidays. Hey, Sugar! was born, a little e-mail went out to spread the word and all of a sudden I had 6000 cookies ordered for the holidays! And on the eve of the big bake day when I realized I would need a little help getting Hey, Sugars! first orders out the door, my friends where all there…helping scoop, bake and pack each one and every one.  

Hey, Sugar! is for my friends; their sweet tooth’s have inspired our most delicious and unique treats. And with all the help and encouragement of my friends and family Hey, Sugar! is now baking for you and your friends too!
